COVID-19 INFORMATION

LATEST UPDATES

Queensland Touch Football (QTF) has been provided with the following COVID-19 information from the Queensland Department of Sport & Recreation and Queensland Health.

The purpose of this resource is to guide and assist Affiliates and Regions on the latest COVID Safe measures.

QTF will continue to follow the latest advice and direction from the Queensland Department of Sport and Recreation and Queensland Health.

NOTE: We require all Affiliates, Regions and Participants to follow Queensland Health’s key directives to ensure competitions and events can proceed safely.

  1. If you are unwell DO NOT ATTEND – STAYHOME and get tested

  2. Observe GOOD HYGIENE at all times and use hand sanitiser and hygiene products, where provided

  3. PHYSICAL DISTANCING should be observed at all other times, where possible, excludes playing

  4. Wear a FACE MASK while not playing, where physical distancing is not possible (Qld Health Recommendation)

  5. Ensure INDOOR SPACES Indoor spaces follow occupant density requirements of one person per two square metre

 

RESTRICTIONS FOR SPORT, RECREATION, AND FITNESS ORGANISATIONS

Queensland’s plan for 80% vaccination and beyond outlines the restrictions for Queensland public health and social measures linked to vaccination status.

COMPLYING WITH THE RESTRICTIONS IN STAGE 3

From 17 December 2021, the following restrictions apply:

OUTDOOR SPORT

  • Vaccinated and unvaccinated persons are permitted to attend and participate.

  • Outdoor based organisations are not considered a restricted business, activity or undertaking. Therefore, organisations are not required to comply with the COVID Checklist.

  • It is not possible for contact sports to observe physical distancing while undertaking activity, however physical distancing should be observed at all other times, where possible.

  • Whilst not mandatory, it’s best practice to continue to clean frequently touched surfaces and shared equipment.

  • Collection of contact tracing information is not compulsory but recommended via the Check in Qld app.

  • Indoor spaces associated with outdoor venues such as clubhouses are required to follow occupant density requirements of one person per two square metre

EVENTS

  • Both vaccinated and unvaccinated people are permitted to outdoor community events. No occupant density limits apply. Contact information must be collected via the Check In Qld app.

  • Indoor events are required to comply with the restrictions as listed under indoor sport.

CHECK IN QLD APP

The collection of contact information via the Check In Qld app will be mandatory for parts of our industry:

  • gyms, health clubs and fitness centres, including boot camps and personal training

  • indoor sports and swimming pools

  • community facilities and recreation centres

  • indoor events

  • outdoor events with dancing (such as festivals)

  • outdoor recreation, such as caravan parks and camping areas

  • short-term residential facilities such as outdoor education accommodation providers.

FACE MASKS

Face masks are required to be worn indoors everywhere in Queensland, except in your own home or accommodation, and where it is unsafe, such as while doing strenuous exercise.

RETURN TO TOUCH FOOTBALL

Queensland Touch Football (QTF) in conjunction with Touch Football Australia (TFA) has compiled a list of documents and resources to help Qld Affiliates be COVIDSafe and make the return to the field as easy as possible. QTF will continue to follow the latest advice and direction from the Queensland Department of Sport and Recreation and Queensland Health.

 

PARTICIPANTS/VOLUNTEERS/SPECTATORS
NO ONE SHOULD BE ATTENDING ANY TOUCH ACTIVITIES IF THEY HAVE:

COVID-19 or has been in direct contact with a known or suspected case of COVID-19 within the last 14 days
Flu-like symptoms or who is a high health risk (e.g. due to age or pre-existing conditions)
Travelled internationally or to a COVID declared hotspot.
If a participant has symptoms or has been in contact with a known or suspected case of COVID-19 they must:

Self isolate and get tested – DO NOT ATTEND TOUCH FOOTBALL
Advise Affiliate/Coach you are getting tested
Notify your Affiliate/Coach of a positive or negative test result once received
Follow medical advice
‘Get in. Play. Get Out’.

Arrive at the venue ready to play and then leave.
Please check-in and out of the venue.
Avoid congregating before or after training/games.
Maintain strict hygiene practices (ie sanitise hands regularly, don’t share equipment or water bottles).
Please adhere to strict physical distancing measures of 1.5m off the field of play.

 

AFFILIATES
Affiliates must comply with an approved Industry COVID Safe Plan – Field Sports (Version 5).

Key things to consider prior to the resumption of training/competitions.

Review the QTF Return to Play Guidelines
Review the TFA Return to Play Protocols and Guidelines
Have you appointed a safety coordinator?
Have you completed a COVID-19 safety plan and cross-referenced your plan with the COVID Safe Plan Checklist?
Have you obtained council/landowner approval to resume activity?
Have you created a map of your facility and how your venue can meet the requirements outlined in the plan?
Do you have the resources to ensure an Attendance Register is kept after every training session/game?
Note: Affiliates following an Industry COVID Safe Plan must include a Statement of Compliance –  print, sign, date and display in their business premises.
